Coloured Clay Techniques with Monika Leone (Agateware, Neriage, Millefiori) Sunday 17 April 9.30 – 4.30 For beginners and experienced people to create original pieces with an effective and relatively simple treatment. I am  planning a workshop on in-laid coloured clay and slips.  This workshop will explore  methods of preparing coloured clays and slips and then various techniques of using the coloured clays to overlay, inlay, cut and fuse to produce unique pieces.  The morning will start at 9.30 when we will all have clay  and slip to colour with stains mmand a demonstration of their uses.  Then everyone will have the opportunity to produce their own pieces.  We will break for lunch at 12.30 – 1.30.  The cost of the full day’s workshop is $130 and will include: demonstration and tuition for the day all clay , stains and materials  one firing morning and afternoon tea two course home-cooked lunch with wine If further glazing and firing is required we can arrange a Saturday morning of 1-2 hours for a further $25.  However, for anyone currently attending classes, they can finish their treatment during class time. There will be a maximum of 10 per workshop. I will guide you through the techniques required to complete a small project including: Basic techniques with ceramic and glass tiles Project planning and design Surface application Grouting and finishing  Future project planning All levels welcome. Alternatively for the more experienced I offer professional guidance to assist you with your own project idea. $240 and in includes: Full tuition Materials for project two course home-cooked lunch with wine Initial project could include wall plaque, house number, planter or vessel. Upon returning to Australia, she has broadened her skills to include many elements of visual arts and craft, including ceramic and glass mosaics, sculpture and digital media.  She runs classes and workshops throughout the year from pre-school to adult level. She was a finalist in the Adult and Community Education Awards in 2008.  As well as classes Kaye is currently working on freelance projects and commissions, and continuing to broaden her visual arts knowledge.  __________________________	__________________________
